Corrected entries
Updated
This page lists every substantive correction made to an entry on Ants, Cells & Atoms, as of 2026-10-25. Each item names the date, the entry and what changed. The same note appears at the foot of the corrected entry.
Corrections so far
No entry has needed a correction as of 2026-10-25. When one does, it will be listed here as a dated item linking to the entry.
How corrections are recorded
A correction is recorded in two places on the same day: in the Corrections section at the foot of the entry and on this page. The format is fixed:
YYYY-MM-DD — What was wrong → what it says now — reported by reader or … — reported by recheck
"Reader" means the error came in through contact@antscellsandatoms.com. "Recheck" means it turned up when the entry's sources, names or numbers were compared against their sources again.
The rules behind the format:
- A confirmed error in a number is fixed within 72 hours.
- An error of a factor of ten or more, in either direction, also gets a one-line notice at the top of the entry, which stays for 30 days.
- A substantive revision moves the "last substantive revision" date in the entry's Cite this page block. Entries are not changed silently: if the meaning of a sentence, a figure, a caption or a data file changes, a correction is recorded, even when no reader reported it.
- When the same statement appears in more than one place, every place changes together: the short answer, the Bench card, the figure captions, the tables, the CSV files and any other entry that repeats it.
- A change of scientific name, following GBIF or the Catalogue of Life, is recorded as a correction, and the entry keeps both names.
- A rewrite of the conditions of a tolerance or survival experiment (species, kind of stress, active or dried state, dose, exposure time, endpoint) is recorded as a correction.
- Typos and layout fixes that do not change meaning are not recorded.
How to report one
Write to contact@antscellsandatoms.com with the address of the entry and the sentence or figure in question. A source that supports the change helps. What to include is on the contact page; how entries are checked in the first place is on the About page.
